Versatility is derives from the Latin word versatilis which is mean turning, revolving, moving, and capable of turning to varied subjects or tasks. It is such a capable of doing many things competently. An entrepreneur is versatile which means he or she is able to adapt the business tactics to changes in the market as well as able to fill multiple roles within his or her business. He or she is not limited to the function of an operations manager, but also an accountant, marketer, logistician, and human resource manager. The versatile through multiple roles does not take away from its singular focus, but forms the fibers that strengthen the singular focus of starting up and running the business. For example, companies seek employees who have versatility so they can adapt to different work situations.
But in this study, we have found that Eike Batista as a founder of oil and gas driller is also the richest person in the world who has applied the versatility in his own business and now become a successful entrepreneur. He is the most versatile business man in the world based on people who knows what he has done. He has built a lot of different multi-billion businesses in different areas, beginning from scratch. His entrepreneurial instinct and talent led him to implement the first mechanized alluvial gold mining plant in the Amazon, marking the beginning of the EBX Group.
He is also known for his generous donations and superstition. He added in his rules that ‘you grow up as a person when you face your difficulties and challenges, or stressful moments as he like to say a good entrepreneur must be prepared to evolve in adversity. He decided to share some of his Midas touch knowledge by publishing his own book which is ‘Eike Batista’s X Factor - The Path of Brazil’s Biggest Entrepreneur. He shares a lot of his personal views on business and money in that book.
